The Russian Anti-Doping Agency (RUSADA) is pleased to announce the appointment of Maria Markova as Director of Communications.

Maria brings with her over ten years of experience within the public relations and media industry, and joins RUSADA from Sport-Express where she was special projects editor-in-chief. She also spent time as a TV host for Russia Today, hosting a weekly Spanish-speaking sports programme. Maria can speak Russian, English and Spanish.

Commenting on her appointment, interim CEO Mikhail Bukhanov said: “We are delighted to have Maria join RUSADA. Her stellar professional history emphasises her impressive and varied skill set, and as the agency enters a new era her communications support will be vital to help inspire clean sport.”

Maria Markova said: “I am very excited to be joining RUSADA and to make an appropriate contribution to the agency’s ongoing work. It has never been a more important time for Russian sport, individual athletes, and the public to receive a simple understanding when it comes to anti-doping, and it is a privilege to be able to work alongside the organisation in delivering this.”
