RUSADA publishes detailed information on the directions of the agency's anti-doping activities.
The document (available at: https://rusada.ru/upload/iblock/d7d/Detailed%20information%20(comparison).pdf) contains a comparison of indicators for the periods 2012-2015 and 2018-2019 for all activities of the agency.
The analysis demonstrates the key differences in the approaches of the new RUSADA and the old one, the scale of the changes made that were related to the implementation of critical and priority requirements in order to strictly adhere to the World Anti-Doping Code and International Standards.
So, despite the large number of samples taken for 2012 - 2015 the percentage of targeted testing was no more than 11% of the total number of samples, while this indicator for 2018-2019 increased from 47.4% to 70.1% of the total number of samples for the corresponding period.
The number of TUE requests submitted by Russian athletes in 2018-2019 (205 requests) exceeded the figure for the 4-year period 2012-2015 (171 requests). This became possible not only thanks to the emergence of convenient services for checking medications and or accessible guidelines for medical personnel, but also thanks to introduction of online education since 2017, expansion of the range of RUSADA educational programs and their target audiences, as well as the development of a new direction - support of regional programs aimed at preventing anti-doping rule violations.
