Caution! Pre-workout complex may contain substances banned in sports

2023

RUSADA warns that "pre-workout complex" may often contain illegal stimulants. For example, methylhexanamine (also known as methylhexamine, 1,3-dimethylamylamine, 1,3-DMAA, dimethylamylamine and DMAA; trade names Fortan and Geranamine).

Some supplements designed to increase energy, muscle volume and strength, for weight loss and libido enhancement may contain various stimulants, hormones, anabolic agents, etc. Pay special attention to the presence in the composition of some dietary supplements of a component with a lot of numbers or similar phrases: "unique patented matrix" or "patented mixture", you know that under it there may be hidden steroids, stimulants or other prohibited substances.

The use of supplements by athletes can lead to:

  • adverse doping sample results;
  • negative health consequences.
We also recommend that you be critical of claims that dietary supplements have passed various studies that supposedly prove the effectiveness of the supplement. Such "scientific studies" may be custom-made, and their conclusions may have no scientific basis.

Do not believe any advertising promising a quick and safe way to improve athletic performance!

RUSADA does not give advice on nutritional supplements and does not recommend their use to athletes!

Always remember: the athlete is responsible for everything that goes into his body.
